Nature, for me, is an archway to the soul. I took this photo in the woods. Are you observant enough to see the beauty in the ordinary? Can you look at the outdoors and observe the subtle details within the greater whole, yet also see how small we are in the great cosmic picture?
These observations connect me to nature. They recharge my energy like the sun recharges solar cells.

I need to smell the air and feel the breeze. I need the warmth of the sun on my face as much as I need to feel the texture of soil beneath my feet. Whether I'm sitting on my patio, taking a walk, floating out on the water, or camping, the trees, birds, flowers, and insects inspire me. Since most of my writing is nonfiction, my creative well is filled with ideas when I'm outside.

If you haven't guessed yet, photography is another of my hobbies. I also enjoy crafting, sewing, cooking, and skating. I'm also interested in psychology, history, visiting historical places, and museums. Perhaps this is why I most enjoy writing about history, psychology, the natural sciences, and the environment.
